Dual wield and 2h Weapons is the best option right now. You should only use shields for hard slayer tasks or dragons (if there aren't any other anti-fire devices). If I were in your position, I would buy a dspear for a low cost melee weapon of tier 60 (you may also choose to dual wield dlongs/dscims). For mage, go to your best to OSRS Gold play in the Mage Arena (in the wilderness) and buy a god staff. For range, get an elder shortbow. This is all I can think of.
In the light of the price decreases of bandos, it seems to be within the price range I am looking for. Is it relatively stable with the current prices or how do I look at it? In terms of range, is a shortbow an option? Are crossbows no longer useful or desired?
Do you suggest getting a different type of weapon? For now, I'm sporting dual-wield Dscims from the last time I played on this account. Do I need to get smash and stab weapons? If so, what advice would you recommend. Regarding Whips, do you think they are still an option for you?
Also is god staff in general the best option for the moment? Do I need to bother adjusting to the magical inability of the mosnters (earth water, fire air)? Are prayers worth the effort or money today, especially when you consider the nerf for protection from prayers?
First, some more general tips: I've been informed that Buy RuneScape 2007 Gold Dragonrider sells for half the ge price... but go for Bandos regardless. It's super cheap right now. (~6m to buy the Chestplate along with Tassets) Begin to work towards a Slayer helm, and try upgrading it to the T70 version, using your Slayer points.
